Abstract

This article is about the perspective that the traditional historiographical narrative of the colonization -based on a corpus elaborated with the works of Mateo Martinic, Lucas Bonacic-Doric and Armando Braun Menendez- constructs and explain the idea of extinction/extermination of indigenous peoples in Magallanes. This historical construct is tracked and analysed in other types of speech -public opinion, in particular- where controversies continue to arise in current times.
