Change what we see, or alter the look? Ephemeral urban interventions in Lima in the 21st century

Abstract
The article analyzes ephemeral art in public spaces in Lima, Peru, in the 21st century, context marked by the terrorist violence of previous decades, the alteration of the concept of the public, the macroeconomic recovery and the political and institutional crisis of the State. Five works promoted from the institutions or from outside are studied; these are classifiable as Contemporary Art and make use of public space and the architectural image. From a comparative analysis, this text studies the approaches between architecture, urban planning and ephemeral art, and to what extent these disciplines can consolidate an exchange of contributions. The conclusions reflect on the impact of these artistic works on a wide and diverse range of the population, unlike galleries and museums. Their contributions to society and the city are evaluated, especially their messages of critical and reflective content through architecture.
