Abstract

This document is oriented to discuss the application of the human rights approach to the population phenomena. It is organized in five parts. The first one refers to the meaning of «human rights», fundamental issue considering the different connotations this concept presents. The second part describes the international human rights system. Then, the intersections of population phenomena, development, and human rights, are considered. The fourth part identifies the population rights recognized by the international law. Finally, the fifth part discusses the main both this subject opportunities and challenges, including the related to the global approach, as well as the research topics.
